Water Safety Tips - with Wade S. Turtle!

Swim as a pair near a lifeguard’s chair!

You should always swim near a lifeguard or another adult who is responsible for watching you to provide help if you need it.

Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of people when they are swimming or playing in the water.  They have special training to:

  • Prevent emergencies
  • Recognize emergencies
  • Respond to emergencies

Parents are responsible for watching and keeping their children safe in all pools.

  • Avoid distractions while watching your children when they are in or near the water
  • Enroll your children in swimming lessons
  • Establish rules regarding when children are allowed to enter the water
