Welcome Back! We are ready to take on summer but with a few changes
The Derby Recreation Center is to re-open Tuesday, May 26 with normal operating hours, 5am-10 pm Monday through Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 am -5 pm. Facility amenities that will be available are the fitness center, racquetball courts, gymnasiums, and walking track. Group fitness classes, Kid’s Club, indoor pool, and locker rooms anticipated to open again on June 1 with adequate spacing per CDC guidelines. Hubbard Arts Center to open on June 15 with start of summer programs.

• Annual and Monthly Memberships - All members that had one of these memberships prior to the facilities closing on March 17 have had their expiration dates extended for the amount of days closed.
• Autopay Memberships - All members with autopay memberships in place (at the time of the facilities closing) were frozen to ensure no payments were taken out during our closure. Autopay membership accounts will be set to reactivate on the date we re-open to the public. Invoices dates will be adjusted to a new day of the month based on the amount of days that were unable to be used from their last payment due to facility closure.
What to expect during Re-opening
Temperatures will be taken at the door. Those with temperatures at or over 100.4 will be asked to leave. Please stay home if you feel sick.
Facility doors will be kept open where possible for touchless entry.
There will be no basketballs provided. No pick-up basketball. Individuals and families can bring in their own basketballs.
Racquetball and pickle ball players should bring their own equipment.
Per social distancing guidelines, capacities for the following areas within the DRC will have a maximum capacity.
Studio D: 15
Studio R: 15
Studio C: 15
Cycle Studio: 12
Kid’s Club: 15
These capacities will be relaxed as social distancing guidelines change.
Equipment spaced to enable social distancing.
More classes in gymnasiums. Outdoor classes available (starting June 1).
Marked floors in guest services area.
Reduced class sizes and fitness instructors will help with spacing in group fitness areas.
Health and Safety:
Masks will be worn by staff in common areas. Masks are optional for members.
Increased number of disinfecting stations.
Extra nightly cleaning with disinfecting fog machine.
Members will be asked to clean equipment before and after use.
Extra staff for added cleaning duties.
All staff receive health and temperature checks daily.

Member Code of Conduct:
Maintain a 6 foot distance from anyone not in your family
Disinfect equipment before and after use
Stay home when sick – no fevers over 100.4 degrees, excessive coughing, sneezing or other symptoms of illness
Wash your hands often and avoid touching your face
Members may wear masks if desired
We ask that you use the locker rooms (starting June 1), water fountains, and restrooms at your discretion and do not linger.
The staff recommends that you keep your gym time to 2 hours or less as much as possible.
Youth ages 8-15 must have a parent/guardian present in the building. All previous facility age requirements still apply.
Summer programming will be in an 8-week session format. This includes all program areas including sports, art, aquatics, wellness, fitness, summer camps, and special events.
All programs are designed for social distancing in mind. Some programs that will not allow for social distancing have been cancelled or postponed. See our Summer program guide for details on May 18.
