    Young actors are given the opportunity to learn new methods of acting and perfect what they already possess, in a one act play. The play will be created with the actors to perform on the last day of class in the Derby Public Library Community Room.

  2. One Day Art - Pottery

    September 21, 2018, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Derby Middle School

    Take a moment out of your busy day to de-stress and feel the clay in your hands as you create your own coffee mug, bowl, or cup. Learn various pottery techniques working with clay, water, and glaze. All materials are included. Pottery can be messy, wear appropriate clothes. Ages 16 and up.

  3. DRC Strong

    September 22, 2018, 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

    Are you DRC Strong? A powerlifting competition to earn bragging rights in the gym! Competitors will be given 3 opportunities in: Bench, Squat and Dead Lift. DRC Strong is open to all levels of lifters. Wilks Formula will be used to calculate absolute power. Participants sign up to lift in an open slot between 11:00am-4:00pm. Awards will be given to the top 3 males & females. Awards ceremony at 4:00pm. Signups will continue until all time slots are filled. Register by September 13 in order to guarantee a participant shirt. A lifting form must be completed at the time of registration. Registration minimum MUST be met for the competition to be held.

  5. Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program

    EFNEP offers 5 weeks of interactive, practical lessons in basic nutrition, food preparation, food budget management, and food safety in settings convenient for you. The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program is sponsored by the USDA and taught by K-State Research & Extension. Participants will learn how to: · Buy healthy food on a budget. · Plan nutritious and quick meals. · Prepare & taste recipes your family will love. We serve parents with young children and pregnant women that are eligible for: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), WIC, Head Start, Families whose children receive free and reduced lunch. Must register.

  6. Final Friday Gallery Tour

    Join us as we visit Wichita for an evening of art. We will hop on the bus at the DRC and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Final Friday Gallery Crawl. Commerce Art District, City Arts and Old Town Square are some of the locations we will visit. Route will be determined by art openings each evening. We will return to the DRC by 9 pm. Art is fun with a friend.
