The Basics of Art Technology

Explore the possibilities of photography and video as you learn the art of digital. Start with basics and work your way up. Programs vary depending on the season. Adult technology programs are geared towards ages 16 and older. 


Each week students will learn different techniques to enhance their photography skills and practice them at locations. As a group you will determine where you will be shooting each week based on availability of subjectsand locations. This class is designed to show students who are familiar with their camera’s features how to takebetter photos. Student’s cameras should have a manual as well as program settings to get the most out of the experience. We will also spend some class time working on digital photo editing. We will go over some of the basics of editing including cropping, color correction, adding text and working with layers as time allows. Students will need to bring their camera, manual, and flash drive to class. Ages 16 and older.

This classroom course provides digital photography beginners the opportunity to explore some of the basic concepts of digital photography through individual hands-on instruction. Each participant is encouraged to bring their cameras to class and participate in discussions about basic camera functionality: focus, exposure, saving digital files, archiving, file transfer, digital media formatting and more as requested. Taking the guess work out of using your digital camera and discovering solutions to individual problems are goals of the class.

This computer classroom study will explore Adobe Photoshop Elements, one of the most user-friendly and comprehensive digital image software programs on the market for the digital photography hobbyist. From cropping to color correction to tweaking the F-stop, you will discover how every photograph is a potential masterpiece.
